Celebrating the best of Irish film

San Francisco Irish Film Festival 2011

The 8th Annual San Francisco Irish Film Festival celebrates

The Top Ten Irish Indies!

September 22nd – 25th, 2011

Roxie Film Center

The 2011 San Francisco Irish Film Festival is a special celebration of Ireland’s ten best Independent films and shorts, a mixture of classics and soon to be classics.

Step out in your finest pair of silk pyjamas and join inner-city Dubliners, Lauren and Tara, as they navigate the trials of life in Maya Derrington’s Pyjama Girls.  Then hold onto your fingers as we follow the misadventures of Git and Anto who undertake a mission for the mob in Paddy Breathnach’s crime comedy, I Went Down.

Festival favorite Magners ‘n’ Shorts will return on Saturday, so kick up your heels, and enjoy the very best in contemporary Irish short films.

This year we are pleased to extend the festival to four days.  Sunday concludes our 2011 event with films such as Hunger, Bloody Sunday, and In the Name of the Father.

Special guests at our Opening Night reception on Thursday, September 22nd, include honoree director, Paddy Breathnach, and many more.
